Abstract

Introduction: Coronary Thrombosis results in patients with valvular heart disease, which is among the most common diseases in the dental practice. Objective: To describe the analgesic management of dental analgesia in patients with a history of coronary thrombosis who take warfarin.
Methods: A literature review was carried out in the following databases: PubMed, Scindirect, Google Scholar, Scielo and Elseiver. From 145 articles found, using the exclusion criteria, a reduction was made to 13 articles that met the search parameters.  The search attempted to answer the question: ¿What should be the dental analgesic management in patients with a history of coronary thrombosis who take warfarin?
Results: It was evident that the management of oral anticoagulant interactions is a complex process that requires a thorough knowledge of clinically relevant interactions, metabolic and elimination pathways of the drugs, as well as mechanisms of interaction to ensure the safety and efficacy of treatment.
Conclusions: It is concluded that the drug of choice for treating pain in the dental office is Paracetamol in patients with a history of Coronary Thrombosis and who are taking Warfarin. The authors make recommendations for possible future studies in the line of research into the analgesic management of dental pain in patients with a history of Coronary Thrombosis who are taking Warfarin.
