Keywords:
Physiotherapy; continuing education; Occupational ergonomics; Musculoskeletal disordersAbstract
Introduction: Work-related musculoskeletal disorders represent a major occupational health problem due to their high prevalence and their negative impact on workers’ quality of life, productivity, and overall well-being. Occupational ergonomics, when integrated into physiotherapists’ continuing education processes, is recognized as a key strategy for primary health prevention.
Objective: To substantiate the importance of integrating occupational ergonomics into physiotherapists’ continuing education and its impact on workers’ quality of life.
Methods: Theoretical methods were applied, including documentary analysis, systematization, and the historical–logical method, which allowed for the comparison, interpretation, and critical positioning of ideas related to the object of study.
Development: Continuing education in Physiotherapy, particularly in the field of occupational ergonomics, has a significant influence on strengthening professional competencies, improving workers’ quality of life, and preventing occupational injuries, while also consolidating professional practice based on scientific evidence.
Conclusions: Scientific evidence demonstrates that continuing education in occupational ergonomics strengthens physiotherapists’ professional competencies, promotes the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders, and contributes to sustained improvements in workers’ quality of life.
