Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality among women, which is why this research aimed to develop an educational plan for the prevention of breast cancer aimed at women of the Association April 20 Tulcán 2024, For this purpose, it is necessary to use a methodology based on the quantitative approach, supported by theoretical level methods such as inductive-deductive, historical-logical, analytical-synthetic and systemic approach, the instrument used being the questionnaire, which was applied to the members of the association and allowed us to highlight among the main results that 64% of those surveyed are unaware of breast cancer prevention measures, and 53% do not perform any self-examination method, only 20% regularly include fruits and vegetables in their diet, and 67% never consult educational materials or attend workshops on breast cancer prevention, 44% do not exercise regularly, and 34% have a family history of breast cancer, with lack of time being the greatest obstacle to regular check-ups according to 43% of those surveyed, and the same proportion cites family and friends as their main source of information, on the other hand, 46% do not consume supplements for the prevention of this disease, highlighting a notable lack of knowledge about your benefit. That is why an educational plan was designed focused on improving knowledge, preventive practices, and providing emotional and psychological support to women.
