Abstract

Brain tumors represent a significant challenge in modern medicine due to their diagnostic and therapeutic complexity, as well as their impact on patients' quality of life. The aim of the study was to synthesize existing evidence on brain tumors through a systematic review of the literature using the PRISMA 2020 methodology. A PubMed search was conducted using the term "brain tumors" between 2019 and 2024, selecting relevant studies based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. A total of 342 articles were identified, of which, after a rigorous selection process, 10 studies were included in the final analysis. The results highlight advances in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, such as intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging and PET/CT with 6-[18F]FDOPA, which improve surgical precision and the differential diagnosis between tumor recurrence and radionecrosis. Additionally, innovative strategies were documented, including the use of agarose-based synthetic phantoms for experimental research and the implementation of comprehensive approaches in neuropsychological rehabilitation for pediatric patients. The utility of fMRI paradigms in preserving critical language functions in surgical cases was also emphasized. The conclusions underscore the need to standardize protocols and promote the integration of advanced technologies to improve clinical outcomes and the quality of life of patients with brain tumors. This study highlights the importance of interdisciplinary and innovative approaches in managing these complex pathologies.
