Abstract

Introduction: Heart rate, or pulse, is the number of times the heart beats per minute and as a patient age, changes in the rate and regularity of their pulse can change and signify a heart condition or other condition that needs to be treated.
Objective: To analyze Ivabradine as an effective option in heart rate control in patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF).
Methods: A literature review was carried out using the documentary analysis technique in which scientific articles and data were searched for on websites of international organizations related to the subject, using digital tools such as academic search engines and virtual libraries.
Results: We found that AF is a common disease that involves an irregular heart rhythm and can cause serious complications such as stroke and heart failure. Approximately 25% of adults develop it at some point in their lives, and the risk is higher as they get older.
Conclusions: Heart rate control is interpreted to be essential in the treatment of AF, and Ivabradine is an effective drug for this purpose. The literature review conducted demonstrates that Ivabradine is a safe and positive treatment option for heart rate control in AF patients, and its use may improve patients' quality of life and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.
