Abstract

This study aims to identify university students' perceptions toward dental aesthetics, explore their attitudes toward aesthetic dental treatments, and analyze the relationship between these perceptions and attitudes with their level of oral care. Surveys were used as a data collection method, applying simple non-stratified random sampling for the selection of participants. The results reveal that the majority of students consider dental aesthetics as a fundamental aspect of their personal image and are willing to undergo dental treatments to improve their appearance. However, obstacles were identified, such as costs and lack of information, that limit their access to these treatments, which can negatively affect their emotional well-being by not being able to meet their aesthetic needs. In conclusion, the need to design strategies that promote university students' access to dental treatments is highlighted, with the aim of improving their oral health and strengthening their self-esteem.
