Abstract

Introduction: The popularity of fat grafts in the last 20 years has increased hand in hand with the increase in liposuction procedures and the availability of fatty tissue.

Objectives: Describe the results of the application of lipotransfer.

Methods: A longitudinal descriptive study was carried out with data collected prospectively, in 158 patients who consented to participate, in the Plastic Surgery service of the “Hermanos Ameijeiras” Hospital, in the period between January 2020 and December 2022.

Results: 96.8 % were women, 28.5 % aged 50 to 59 years, 91.1 % with mixed skin and 59.5 % with photoaging as the main diagnosis. The face (70.9 %) was the main anatomical region treated. Decantation (63.9 %) and normo correction (88.6 %) were the most frequently used lipotransfer methods. The results were good in 94.3 % and 95.6 % were satisfied.

Conclusions: The evolution of the autologous fat graft was favorable in the different procedures performed, the results were classified as good and there were few complications.
