Abstract

Arterial hypertension is highly prevalent in older adults and represents a significant clinical challenge in the dental field. This systematic review aimed to synthesize recent evidence on the dental management of geriatric patients with hypertension. A bibliographic search was conducted in PubMed using the PRISMA 2020 methodology, covering articles published between 2019 and 2024. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, and a comparative table and PRISMA diagram were constructed. Seven relevant studies were included, addressing clinical interventions, cardiovascular monitoring, local anesthesia selection, and medical-dental collaboration. It is concluded that safe and effective dental management of these patients requires thorough preoperative evaluation, stress control, proper anesthesia use, and close interdisciplinary communication.
