Abstract

The engineering of vascularized tissues has emerged as a promising strategy for the regeneration of complex tissues and organs. The creation of functional vascular structures is crucial to provide an adequate supply of blood, nutrients, and oxygen to regenerated tissues. In this study, recent advances in the field of vascularized tissue engineering are investigated. The main objective of this study is to review the most relevant methods and advances in the creation of functional vascular structures for tissue regeneration. The aim is to analyze the approaches used, the materials used and the results obtained in the generation of vascularized tissues. A comprehensive review of recent scientific literature on vascularized tissue engineering was carried out. Studies addressing different approaches were collected, including 3D bioprinting, the use of biomimetic scaffolds, and dynamic cell perfusion, among others. Advances in the creation of functional vascular structures have demonstrated the feasibility of generating complex tissues and organs in the laboratory. Significant improvements have been achieved in blood perfusion, cell survival and functionality of regenerated tissues. Vascularized tissue engineering is a constantly evolving field that offers great perspectives for tissue regeneration. Advances in the creation of functional vascular structures are critical to the success of complex tissue and organ regeneration.
